Plurals in French, lesson 1
For most nouns (name of person, place, thing or idea) an 's' is added at the end of the word to form the plural... just like in English. For example in English, 'Cat' becomes 'Cats'
and in French, 'Chat' becomes 'Chats'.
It's easy!
However there are a few exceptions:
Noun ending |
|
Plural ending |
-eu
|
... becomes ...
|
-eux |
-al |
... becomes ...
|
-aux |
-eau |
... becomes ...
|
-eaux |
-ail |
... becomes ...
|
-aux |
(Some) -ou |
... becomes ...
|
-oux |
